Consistency of LEITZ:
The depicted illuminator Lamp was used over many years for the robust boxy design of the ORTHOPLAN.
There appears to be 2 generations of this scope. A newer white version and a older grey version.
These Lamp housings have been reported to fit other similar LEITZ scopes.

Efficient & bright:
No wasted light from an inefficient bulb or the lack of reflectors. In the Lo-10 illuminator the LED faces forward to the collector optics inside the lamp housing so you get more of the light generated by the LED.

Fits ORTHOPLAN grey or white versions & with depicted lamp housing.
May fit others.
